Friday Style Crush: Mawi

It’s no secret that we adore London label Mawi’s brilliant jade green jewellery, so you can imagine how we reacted when we came across this beautiful photo of Mawi’s PR extraordinaire Charlie wearing the Crystal and Jade Bracelet.

5 Minutes with Magdalena Velevska

Ever since Georgina Safe heralded her as one of the dominant labels at RAFW, we’ve been curious to see which direction Magdalena Velevska will take with her eponymous label.

For SS10-11, Velevska has experimented with cut, form, and colourful pops of painterly print. We caught up with her to find out what inspired her latest runway offering…

How would you describe your personal style?

I’m a juggler in life, so my personal style philosophy accommodates for all responsibilities on my daily calendar. Its minimal with a twist, somewhat classic with an edge and neutral with pops of colour.

What is in your handbag today?

I carry a Zac Posen handbag that contains a passport hard-drive that has all information I require for work, concealer, Prada sunglasses, and a Miu Miu purse.

Where do you look for inspiration?

This season I visited my university library, and in a good old fashioned way sat by the window flicking through art, interior and fashion books for two whole days.

Who is the Magdalena Velevska muse?

I love Lou Doillon’s mixed up innate cuteness and grown-up chic. Also, I’ve always been inspired by images of Nadja Auermann and Bianca Jagger’s style in the 70’s.
