An exotic sherbet hued runway look from Camilla and Marc SS2010-11
Camilla and Marc’s SS2010-11 show has been the standout collection for me so far this Fashion Week. As the first look paraded down the runway at Sydney’s old gas light warehouse, the words ‘ethnic and exotic’ came to mind.Sherbet shades gave a nod to the neutral palette we’ve been seeing a lot but intricate prints and expert structure added an edginess. True to their ‘cool girl’ aesthetic, garments featured military detail and lace paneling, but it was the accessories that caught my eye.
The jewellery seemed as though it was inspired by Abbey Lee’s signature piercings; layered chains hugged wrists and dangled from earlobes, in bright gold and molten noir shades. Bags were well sized (unlike several of the severely oversized examples seen in previous shows) and shoes were elegantly modern. A fabulous collection and well styled show.
